iTune's potcasting support was such a money shot that I can just see Redmond hitting their head with their hands saying: "Geez, why didn't we think of it first" (which, I'm sure, they did everytime Apple did something cool)
I'm amazed at how well podcasts integrates with the software, and how much more convenient it becomes. The integration works especailly well with cleaning up podcast that you'd listened to.
An interesting question would be whether Apple's killing the business of all the 3rd party pod-catching clients. Afterall, Apple's been acused for that with building "spotlight" into the OS. My take is that it will definitely steal the thunder for a couple of months, and probably kills developers who don't adapt to change their software. 3rd party software developers need to shift from providing just a pod-catching client to providing other value added service. Perhaps there can be a pod-catcher that let you post feedbacks, audio-commentary, or even make your own podcasts. These coupled with online services to host and distribute audio content would be a very attractive proposition.
But of cause, I'm sitting back and let the more talented of you figure out how that's gonna happen.
Cheers.
