Laszlo

Laszlo is an AJAX-like framework based on flash. Unlike AJAX, it's designed to be an application framework. AJAX feels more like an accident-made-reality by Google via web applications like GMail and Google Maps.

As I mentioned in previous post, Google Video was finally made available. At first they used a downloadable plugin, far from an optimal solution in the Web 2.0 world. To solve this, they switched to flash, streaming Video wrapped entirely in a flash-based-video-player-inside-a-browser thingy.

Flash being the propriety close-sourced software that it is, has been adapted extremely well. Even the previously mentioned Animation Mentor made one hell of an application out of flash.
