On Unitus and Microfinance

A $100 loan from a microfinance institution can be all it takes for a hard-working self-employed woman to lift her family out of poverty. Our innovative approach as a microfinance accelerator can bring this economic miracle to millions of the world’s poor.
I'm impressed after looking through their website. It's the classic senerio, teaching someone to fish rather than giving them the fish. The effect is enormous. In this case they are giving a chance to be ambitious.

Michael Murray, Chairman of Unitus, explained that more than half of the world's population live on less than $2 a day. By providing a $100 load (half an ipod nano's worth, loan, not donation) it'll change someone's life, and change the economy of the community as well.
