I tried downloading Google Local for Mobile. Knowing that my without any data plan for my mobile plan would make GLM infessible, I tried anyways to see what google would say.
I wonder if this is something they can solve by routing around the problem. I can upload the program to my v3 via bluetooth, and then if I were to have unlimited SMS, could they have been using that as transport layer instead of normal GPRS signals?
All the program really need is to have the coordinates and names of interesting places sent to it after transmitting the query. It shouldn't be that hard at all. Map information can also be uploaded via bluetooth once I'm back with internet access.
Of course I'm fully speculating the ease of implementation, but that's half the fun of writing a blog isn't it?
